Today, Theresa Greenfield’s campaign for U.S. Senate released a new ad with Theresa’s twin sister Maria. In the ad, Theresa highlights her commitment to being an independent voice in Washington to get real results for hardworking Iowans, saying: “what we don’t need are more political twins in Washington.”
When Senator Ernst was elected to the U.S. Senate, she promised to be different and independent. But in Washington, she has voted with Mitch McConnell and her party leaders 97% of the time, even at the expense of Iowans. That includes when Ernst voted to gut protections for pre-existing conditions and for a massive tax giveaway to big corporations and billionaires, which has added $2 trillion to the national debt.
“Senator Ernst said she would be different, but her partisan loyalty to Mitch McConnell has hurt Iowa’s families, farmers and small businesses,” said Greenfield for Iowa spokesperson Izzi Levy. “In Washington, Theresa will be an independent voice that will put Iowa’s hardworking families first. That means Theresa will work with anyone – or stand up to either party – to get our economy back on track, end political corruption, protect and expand health care, and create more opportunity for our farmers and rural communities.”
